The symmetric U-shape of the new building is determined by the axis of the health resort gardens. It is the ordering and access element of the building and a public passage that ex-tends to the spa gardens on the other side. Taking into ac-count the functional relationship between the existing build-ings and the new one, the latter approaches the entire complex to the neighbouring buildings to the north. This left the largest possible area to the south for use as a garden and parking lots for the clinic itself. The new building consists of a three-storey block of wards rising from a plinth which con-tains the diagnostic and therapy facilities. At ground floor level, the one-storey plinth adjoins the old buildings and then, due to the rising ground, completely disappears from view to form the basement of the block of wards.
