The orthodontic surgery as a classic two storey house with a backward staggered upper floor; the result of the original brief which required the area on the top floor to be one third less than the ground floor, and the surrounding context of one or two storey family houses. In this disparate environment, well provisioned from the local DIY stores, the new house will form a necessary "calm" addition, gaining much from its reserved nature. On the street side elevation, the upper floor is drawn out in order to create a clear symmetrically arranged entrance. Exterior walls are finished in a silvered matt cedar panelling underscoring the essence of the house as equally durable and simple.
