Volkwin Marg takes a firm stand when it comes to the preservation of Hamburg's City-Hof-Areal. The ensemble, which is a listed monument, is about to be replaced by a new building – according to the plans of the city council.

As part of the exhibition “credit exhibit” in Hamburg, the gmp founding partner will explain why he considers the demolition a scandal.

Since the beginning of the political debate, Volkwin Marg has been campaigning for the preservation of the City-Hof: The building from the 1950s was a compensation for the white modernity of the 1920s, alienated by the Nazis: According to Marg, the open sequence of four white skyscrapers was a signal of the German reconstruction which needs to be protected.

The exhibition takes place from August 31st till September 3rd at the Brandshof – which is also a listed building. The speech of Volkwin Marg starts on Saturday, September 2nd at 1 pm.
