Six possible locations and a lot of ideas for footbridges are in the focus of the Berlin edition of the “International Footbridge Conference 2017”, from 6th until 8th September. Together with Hartwich / Mertens / Ingenieure, Markus Pfisterer, associated partner with gmp, will show a design for the city on the river Spree. Under the title “Straight in Moment. For the sixth time, the Chair for Conceptual and Structural Design of the Technical University of Berlin is organizing the "International Footbridge Conference" and is inviting over 300 practicing engineers, constructors, designers, architects and researchers from 6th to 8th September 2017 to the German capital.
The focus of the symposium is the presentation of new ideas for a fictional pedestrian bridge in Berlin. gmp is also represented: Markus Pfisterer, associate partner, will be presenting together with Hartwich / Mertens / Ingenieure the previously submitted draft for a traffic node between Europacity, the new district around the Lehrter Straße, to Moabit on 7th September. The design shows the flowing character of a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists within the dense and dynamic city structure.
"Tell a story" is the leitmotiv of the conference, which is supposed to stimulate a fruitful discussion taking into account all participating disciplines.
