Major projects will be in the limelight at the symposium on architecture and building technology on 5 March. At 7:30 pm in the Plenary Hall of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, it is all about the processes of construction planning. gmp's founding partner Volkwin Marg also shares his experience with examples such as Tegel Airport, the Rhein Energie Stadium in Cologne or the New Trade Fair Leipzig.
On the podium, the architect will also meet representatives from the construction industry, such as Engebert Lütke Daldrup or the architectural theorist Wolfgang Sonne. The event was initiated by the two engineers and Academy members Stefan Polónyi and Klaus Bollinger. The discussion opens up with their worrying observations of recurring shortcomings in major projects. One approach to avoid such errors, which would not only increase costs but also extend the construction time, could be to provide the appropriate training for technical building equipment suppliers.
The symposium will be held in the German language.
