"The 14th International Conference on Green and Energy-Efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo", co-hosted by Chinese Society for Urban Studies (CSUS), Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province, Zhuhai Municipal Government, US-China Green Fund, China Green Building Council and CSUS Eco-City Research Committee, takes place in Zhuhai International Convention and Exhibition Center from April 2 to 3, 2018. Mr. Wu Wei, gmp partner for China, has been invited to speak at the Active House Summit. In his lecture, he will dissect gmp's view on sustainability from specific design approaches to macro design concept by citing actual projects such as Guangzhou Development Central Building that just won the 2017 National Green Building Innovation Award, Jiaming Maple Park, that achieved LEED Platinum certification, Deutsche Bank Headquarters, Christ Pavilion Expo 2000 in Hanover, the renovation of Kulturpalast Dresden and TXL, as well as sustainable city strategy. Following over 50 years of architectural practices, gmp has developed an unique sustainability concept. Sustainability, as gmp sees it, is not solely a partial strategy for green design, but rather the improvement of adaptability of buildings through the integrated design, with the purpose of minimizing the impact of buildings on the environment at the design and construction stages, constantly enhancing the comfort level of the buildings, paying tribute to the traditions and promoting the development of existing building typologies.
