At the next Round Table meeting of the Central Institute for Art History (ZI) in Munich, Meinhard von Gerkan will meet Uta Hassler (ETH Zurich), Alina Payne (Harvard University), Werner Sobek (Stuttgart University/Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago) and Wolf Tegethoff (ZI) for a discussion this Friday 12 July at 17:00 hours. The subject will be “The ubiquity of architecture”.
The discussion will focus on these questions:
When architecture is tied to a place, what are the effects on the design process?
What is the role played by professional and general media in this context?
What instruments, methods and procedures should be cultivated by architectural historians in order keep abreast of current developments in teaching and research?
