The ensemble of the Deutsches Haus consists of two building blocks with a height of 75 and 110 meters. With a gross floor area of about 39,000 square meters, the building will be home to the German General Consulate, the German Chamber of Foreign Trade, and the German Business Association. Other spaces are flexibly designed for leasing to additional German companies and organizations. The story-high glass facade on the first floor opens up in the form of an arcade and symbolizes the transparent design. Full glazing also serves to accentuate the joint between blocks. The back-ventilated double facade has been developed specifically for this building. Integrated solar screening regulates thermal input to the interior, thereby contributing to the energy efficiency of the building and making it possible to achieve a high standard of energy conservation even in this tropical climate.
The glass facade of the new building is representative of the aesthetic underlying the entire design. The building sets new standards in Vietnam in terms of eco-friendliness. As the first building to aim for the DGNB Silver award and the LEED Gold certificate, it also achieved two distinctions under the Vietnam Property Award in August 2015.
